Research funding for CRHP members
The Canadian Lung Association offers grants and fellowships funding to members of the CRHP. If you're not a CRHP member, or if your membership has lapsed, renew or join the CRHP now to be eligible for this funding.
Application process for the CRHP Research Awards:
- Ensure you are a CRHP member in good standing
- Read and complete the instructions, application forms, and checklists
- Submit electronic application via ReviewRoom
- Submit original application via postal mail to Ms. Michelle McEvoy, at the address below
Research Grants

| Offers research grants of up to $25,000 to respiratory health professionals who are members of the CRHP. |
- A Canadian citizen, permanent Canadian resident or landed immigrant (these awards are normally held at Canadian institutions);
- A respiratory health professional and member of the CRHP (MDs are not eligible for CRHP grant support as a Principal Investigator);
- Affiliated with a health care organization, an educational institution or any other Canadian institution that can manage funds in the approved way; and
- Pursuing a research study with respiratory health as the major focus.

Fellowships

Offers fellowships to respiratory health professionals who are members of the CRHP for graduate study at the masters, or doctoral level.
- Full-time students: up to $10,000
- Part-time students: up to $5,000

- A Canadian citizen, permanent Canadian resident or landed immigrant. These awards are normally held at Canadian institutions;
- A respiratory health professional and member of the CRHP (MDs are not eligible for CRHP fellowship support);
- Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate (thesis based) program at the Masters or Doctoral level during the funding period (September 2013 – August 2014). Individuals who have applied to a graduate program but have not received acceptance may apply for a Fellowship. The award, however, will be conditional on acceptance into the program.

Knowledge Translation Award

| The Knowledge Translation award program is a new initiative of the CLA designed to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge related to respiratory health. The Canadian Lung Association (CLA) offers Knowledge Translation awards of up to $3,000 to respiratory health professionals who are members of the CRHP (MDs are not eligible for CRHP knowledge translation award support). Applications eligible for this award may include applied or clinical research using quantitative or qualitative methodologies, development of KT tools, systematic reviews, website development, etc. |

2. A respiratory health professional and member of the CRHP (MDs are not eligible).
3. Affiliated with a health care organization, an educational institution or Canadian institution in good standing
4. Disseminating the results of a research project or practice improvement initiative with respiratory health as the major focus.

NOTE: Applications for workshops will not be considered for funding through the Knowledge Translation Awards competition. All applicants requesting workshop funding must apply through the CRHP Regional Respiratory Health Education Workshops competition.
Regional Respiratory Health Education Workshops
Deadline: Will not be available this year. Please check again in June 2013.

| Up to $2,500 is available to members with an interest in developing, planning and delivering a workshop or conference with a focus on respiratory health. The audience may be health professionals or the general public. |
