Outdoor Air Quality

Air pollution can occur anywhere. Some of the most common sources of outdoor air pollution include motor vehicles, fires and industrial facilities.

Air pollution is a major public health concern because it can cause lung and other diseases. In fact over 7 million people die each year in the world from air pollution.  

Pollutants of major public health concern include particulate matter, carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Both outdoor and indoor air pollution cause respiratory and other diseases, which can be fatal.
