The Lungs Matter: Home Radon Mitigation Grant Program
Despite concerning radon levels, some families cannot afford the cost of mitigation. You may be eligible for up to $1,500 towards radon mitigation.
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- the latest Notice of Assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) indicating an total annual household income less than the provincial median income in which they reside. If two people are on the home title, both have to submit a Notice of Assessment.
- long term test results (minimum 90 days) from a C-NRPP certified radon test kit indicating remediation is need (above 200 Bq/m3); and
- a quote from a C-NRPP certified radon mitigation professional who will be used to complete the mitigation.
This Program is for mitigations that have not already been completed. If the mitigation has already been completed you are not eligible to apply.
Are you eligible?
In order to be eligible for funding, applicants to Lungs Matter must:
- have been diagnosed with lung cancer or
- be from low- or moderate-income households (priority will be given to low-income households).
Total household incomes must be no more than:
- Alberta $112,700
- British Columba $102,500
- Manitoba $88,900
- New Brunswick $74,600
- Newfoundland & Labrador $77,400
- Nova Scotia $79,900
- Ontario $105,100
- PEI $80,600
- Quebec $88,400 (
- Saskatchewan $96,100
Funding decisions are made solely by the Canadian Lung Association and are final. Limited funding is available. As such, meeting all the above qualifications does not guarantee that you will receive funding from this program.
