Why become a member of the CLA Board of Directors?

Because we make a difference.

We advocate for cleaner air, policies that reduce nicotine use and more investment in lung health research.

We promote lung health and help prevent lung disease by raising awareness and creating accessible and timely programs and resources for all Canadians.

We create hope by funding cutting-edge research done by early career clinicians and scientists to help them establish their research careers in Canada.

It’s also an exciting time to join our Board. We’re currently working on a new strategic plan that will guide our work over the next several years as Canada’s national lung health charity. Join us and add your passion, your experience and your voice to helping all Canadians breathe easier.

Both of my parents were smokers who died of COPD. They tried to quit, but unfortunately, every attempt was unsuccessful. My mother was a passionate volunteer and giving back was engrained in me. I’m confident that CLA can help to eliminate smoking and save lives. Not my parents, but someone’s parents!”

My commitment to the Canadian Lung Association is deeply personal, given my family’s battle with lung disease and our intergenerational dedication to lung health across Canada. It’s also intimately connected to a love of family, especially two little humans of my own. I’m enthusiastically committed to ensuring that that the lung health of Canada’s youngest generation will endure.”
