The difference between traditional or sacred tobacco and commercial tobacco
Traditionally, tobacco has played and still plays a very important role in the culture and spirituality of many First Nations. It is one of the four sacred medicines provided by the Creator. Traditional tobacco has many uses: for healing, guidance, spiritual strength, discipline and protection. Commercial tobacco, on the other hand, means the store-bought packages of cigarettes or loose tobacco pouches.
