Asthma is a chronic (life time) disease that makes your lungs very sensitive and hard to breathe. Asthma triggers are things that make your asthma symptoms worse by irritating your airways. Asthma triggers make the muscles around your airways squeeze tightly. This muscle tightening can make you wheeze, cough, and feel short of breath.
Because many triggers can be found in workplaces, it is common for people with asthma to have worst symptoms at work. It is important for you to understand your asthma triggers and know how to manage your asthma.
A research group from the University of Toronto and McMaster University created a website to educate people on work-related asthma. You can find their site here: https://lungontario.ca/a-to-z/work-related-asthma-symptoms
